And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 In the meantime the people of the city came to Lot rejoicing. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 He said: These are my daughters, if you will do (aught). 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise. 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Indeed there is a portent in this for those who believe. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
