Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 So set out thou with thy house hold in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs, and let not one of you look back, and pass whither ye are commanded. 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 And there came the people of the city rejoicing 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay. 74 There are certainly signs in that for those who can learn a lesson -- 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Verily in that is a sign for the believers. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
