At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, 61 He said: Surely you are an unknown people. 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them – and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And there came the people of the city rejoicing 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 Fear Allah and do not disgrace me' 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 [Lout (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (to marry lawfully), if you must act (so)." 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 And We made the upside there of downwards, and We rained on them stones of baked clay. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79
