And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 He said, 'These are my daughters, if you would be doing.' 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside-down and showered on them lumps of baked clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
