And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: Surely you are an unknown people. 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 Said Lot: "These are my guests; do not put me to shame, 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 And verily! They (the cities) were right on the highroad (from Makkah to Syria i.e. the place where the Dead Sea is now). 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
