And when the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said: "Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting. 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 rushed towards the house of Lot. Lot said to them, "These are my guests. Do not disgrace me. 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement. 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 Thus did We turn it upside down, and rained down upon them stones of what had been decreed. 74 Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs. 75 for, behold, those [towns] stood by a road that still exists. 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers. 78 and so We inflicted Our retribution on them. And behold, both these [sinful communities] lived by a highway, [to this day] plain to see 79
