The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Surely your Lord is the All Knowing Creator! 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 By the Lord, We will hold them all responsible 92 about what they did. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 And surely We know that your breast straitens at what they say; 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
