The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure. 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 And all that they had done (for security) availed them nothing. 84 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them except with Truth. Surely the Hour will come. So, (O Muhammad), do graciously overlook them (despite their misdeeds). 85 Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 For all their deeds. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,- 95 Those who set up another god with Allah; so they shall soon know. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
