And assuredly the dwellers of Hijr belied the sent ones. 80 And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator of all things, the Knowing. 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,- 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr). Sent down in Mecca after Joseph (Yousuf) before Animals (Al-An 'aam)

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
