The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 For all that they used to do. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 We suffice you against those who mock, 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 And surely We know that your breast straitens at what they say; 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death). 99
