And verily, the dwellers of Al-Hijr (the rocky tract) denied the Messengers. 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator and knows (everything). 86 And assuredly We have vouchsafed unto thee seven of the repetitions and the mighty Qur'an. 87 Do not yearn for other people's property and wives and do not grieve (that they do not believe). Be kind to the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 By the Lord, We will hold them all responsible 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 even against those who set up with God another god. Certainly they will soon know! 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
