And the dwellers of Al Hijr also belied the Messengers. 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 We did not create the heavens and the earth, and what is between them except in truth. The Hour is sure to come, therefore, forgive them with a gracious pardon. 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 Stretch not thine eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy; and do not sorrow for them, and lower thy wing unto the believers, 88 And say: 'I am the plain warner' 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 As to what they did. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
