Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away. 81 They used to hew out houses from the mountains and lived in security. 82 Then the Blast caught them in the morning 83 And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! 84 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and the Hour is surely coming, so overlook (O Muhammad SAW), their faults with gracious forgiveness. [This was before the ordainment of Jihad holy fighting in Allah's Cause]. 85 Surely your Lord is the All Knowing Creator! 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 Even as We sent down on the dividers 90 and who have broken the Scripture into fragments -- 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 As to what they did. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
