And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains (feeling themselves) secure. 82 But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. 86 We have given you the seven dual (verses, Al Fatihah) and the Mighty Holy Reading (Koran). 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 (We have given you the Quran) as We had given (the Bible) to those who divided themselves into groups 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 for what they have done 93 Preach what you have been commanded to and stay away from the pagans. 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
