And verily, the dwellers of Al-Hijr (the rocky tract) denied the Messengers. 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 And indeed We have given you seven verses that are repeated, and the great Qur’an. 87 Do not even cast your eyes towards the worldly goods We have granted to different kinds of people, nor grieve over the state they are in, but turn your loving attention to the believers instead, 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 (Of a punishment) Like the one We sent down upon the dividers. 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 By your Lord We shall question them one and all 92 As to what they did. 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 and worship your Lord until the last moment (of your life) that will most certainly come. 99
