The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 And We brought Our signs unto them, yet they were averting themselves therefrom. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 And say: 'I am the plain warner' 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 By thy Lord, We will question them all. 92 As to what they did. 93 Therefore publicly announce what you are commanded, and turn away from the polytheists. 94 We will, surely, suffice you against those who mock, 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
