The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: 80 And We gave them Our communications, but they turned aside from them; 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 But they were seized by the mighty blast towards the morning; 83 So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 By the Lord, We will hold them all responsible 92 About their deeds. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
