And the dwellers of the Rock certainly rejected the apostles; 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 And all that which they used to earn availed them not. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Your Lord is the Creator, the Knower. 86 And indeed We have given you seven verses that are repeated, and the great Qur’an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 and clearly tell the unbelievers: "I am most certainly a plain warner," 89 (Of a punishment) Like the one We sent down upon the dividers. 90 Those who break the Qur'an into parts. 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
