The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: 80 And We brought Our signs unto them, yet they were averting themselves therefrom. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Cast not thine eyes toward that which We have let classes of them to enjoy; and grieve not over them, and lower thy wing unto the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 By the Lord, We will hold them all responsible 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 and worship thy Sustainer till death comes to thee. 99
