And the people of the Hijr (rocks) denied the Noble Messengers. 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 (Of a punishment) Like the one We sent down upon the dividers. 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 About all what they used to do. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
