Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator of all things, the Knowing. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 and say: "Behold, I am indeed the plain warner [promised by God]! 89 (Of a punishment) Like the one We sent down upon the dividers. 90 and also divided the Quran believing in some parts and rejecting others. 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 Of what they used to do. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
