People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 Then the Blast caught them in the morning 83 and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator of all things, the Knowing. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - 89 (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 For all their deeds. 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 And go on worshipping your Lord till the certainty (of death) comes upon you. 99
