And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 And all that which they used to earn availed them not. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 and say, 'Surely, I am the manifest warner.' 89 (We have given you the Quran) as We had given (the Bible) to those who divided themselves into groups 90 and who have broken the Scripture into fragments -- 91 Now by thy Lord, We shall surely question them all together 92 for what they have done 93 So declare to them what We have enjoined, and turn away from idolaters. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
