And the people of the Hijr (rocks) denied the Noble Messengers. 80 We brought them Our signs, and they turned away from them. 81 They used to hew dwellings in the mountains to live in security. 82 and the Cry seized them in the morning; 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Do not even cast your eyes towards the worldly goods We have granted to different kinds of people, nor grieve over the state they are in, but turn your loving attention to the believers instead, 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 By the Lord, We will hold them all responsible 92 As to what they did. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 but extol thou thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise Him, and be of those who prostrate themselves [before Him] in adoration, 98 And go on worshipping your Lord till the certainty (of death) comes upon you. 99
