AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 Out of what they had gained, nothing proved to be of any benefit to them. 84 And We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, except with the Truth; and indeed the Last Day will come, therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), forbear graciously. 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 [and] who [now] declare this Qur'an to be [a tissue of] falsehoods! 91 Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them. 92 For all that they used to do. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
