Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 We brought them signs, but they turned away. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 But As-Saihah (torment - awful cry etc.) overtook them in the early morning (of the fourth day of their promised punishment days). 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator of all things, the Knowing. 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers 88 and say: "Behold, I am indeed the plain warner [promised by God]! 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 [and] who [now] declare this Qur'an to be [a tissue of] falsehoods! 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 About what they used to do. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 Indeed, We know that your breast is straitened at what they say. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 Worship your Lord until you achieve the ultimate certainty. 99
