AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains (feeling themselves) secure. 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators 90 and also divided the Quran believing in some parts and rejecting others. 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 Of what they used to do. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 Verily We will suffice unto thee against the mockers. 95 Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. 96 And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
