Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 They used to hew dwellings in the mountains to live in security. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 By your Lord We shall question them one and all 92 As to what they did. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
