Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
And the people of the Hijr (rocks) denied the Noble Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 But the Shout seized them in the morning, 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 And indeed We have given you seven verses that are repeated, and the great Qur’an. 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 (Of a punishment) Like the one We sent down upon the dividers. 90 Those who break the Qur'an into parts. 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 about what they did. 93 Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. 94 Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 Worship your Lord until you achieve the ultimate certainty. 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
