The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 and the Cry seized them in the morning; 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not yearn for other people's property and wives and do not grieve (that they do not believe). Be kind to the believers. 88 And say: "I am a distinct warner," 89 (Of a punishment) Like the one We sent down upon the dividers. 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 Therefore proclaim openly (Allah's Message Islamic Monotheism) that which you are commanded, and turn away from Al-Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, and disbelievers, etc. - see V. 2:105). 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death). 99
