AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 We gave them Our signs, but they turned away from them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated, and the mighty Koran. 87 Stretch not thine eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy; and do not sorrow for them, and lower thy wing unto the believers, 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 Proclaim thy Lord's praise, and be of those that bow, 98 and worship thy Sustainer till death comes to thee. 99
