And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. 80 And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 But they were seized by the mighty blast towards the morning; 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 Like (those) We had sent to those schismatics who slandered their Books 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 By the Lord, We will hold them all responsible 92 About their deeds. 93 Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him). 98 And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death). 99
