The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 And indeed We have given you seven verses that are repeated, and the great Qur’an. 87 Do not stretch your eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy, nor sorrow for them, and lower your wing to the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 [and] who [now] declare this Qur'an to be [a tissue of] falsehoods! 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 About their deeds. 93 Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. 94 We suffice you against those who mock, 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 Therefore proclaim the Purity of your Lord with praise, and be of those who prostrate. 98 And go on worshipping your Lord till the certainty (of death) comes upon you. 99
