The Bee (Al-nahl)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The decree of God is at hand, so do not seek to hasten it. Holy is He, and exalted far above what they associate with Him. 1 He sends down the angels with the soul of faith – the divine revelations – towards those among His bondmen He wills that, “There is no worship except for Me, therefore fear Me.” 2 He has created the heavens and the earth in accordance with [an inner] truth; sublimely exalted is He above anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity! 3 He created man from a sperm-drop; then at once, he is a clear adversary. 4 He has created cattle for you: from them you derive food and clothing and numerous other benefits; 5 In them there is beauty for you when you bring them home and when you lead them to pasture. 6 And they bear your loads to a city which ye could not reach except with travail of souls; verily your Lord is Kind, Merciful. 7 And (He has created) horses, mules, and donkeys, for you to ride and use for show; and He has created (other) things of which ye have no knowledge. 8 And Allah's is the direction of the way, and some (roads) go not straight. And had He willed He would have led you all aright. 9
