It is He who sends down rain from the sky: from it ye drink, and out of it (grows) the vegetation on which ye feed your cattle. 10 With this water He produces for you crops, and olives, and dates, and grapes, and all kinds of fruit; indeed in this is a sign for people who ponder. 11 And He has made subservient for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon, and the stars are made subservient by His commandment; most surely there are signs in this for a people who ponder; 12 And that which He has multiplied for you in the earth of diverse hues. Surely in that is a sign for a people who remember. 13 And He it is Who has subjected the sea that you may eat fresh fish from it and bring forth ornaments from it that you can wear. And you see ships ploughing their course through it so that you may go forth seeking His Bounty and be grateful to Him. 14 And He placed mountains as anchors in the earth so that it may not shake along with you, and streams and roads for you to find course. 15 And marks and sign-posts; and by the stars (men) guide themselves. 16 Is He then Who creates like him who does not create? Do you not then mind? 17 If you count the favours of God you will not be able to calculate. Assuredly God is forgiving and kind. 18 And God knows what you keep secret and what you publish. 19 , As for those they call besides God, they cannot create a thing, and have themselves been created. 20 they are dead, not living. They do not even know when they will be resurrected. 21
