It is He who sends down rain from the sky: from it ye drink, and out of it (grows) the vegetation on which ye feed your cattle. 10 With it He causes to grow for you the crops, the olives, the date-palms, the grapes, and every kind of fruit. Verily! In this is indeed an evident proof and a manifest sign for people who give thought. 11 And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason. 12 And there are also Signs for those who take heed in the numerous things of various colours that He has created for you on earth. 13 And He it is who has made the sea subservient [to His laws,] so that you might eat fresh meat from it, and take from it gems which you may wear. And on that [very sea] one sees ships ploughing through the waves, so that you might [be able to] go forth in quest of some of His bounty, and thus have cause to be grateful [to Him]. 14 He set firm mountains upon the earth lest it should shake with you; and rivers, and roads, in order that you are guided. 15 as well as [various other] means of orientation: for [it is] by the stars that men find their way. 16 Is He then Who createth as him who createth not? Will ye not then remember? 17 And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. 18 and God knows all that you keep secret as well as all that you bring into the open. 19 But those whom you invoke, other than Allah do not create anything they are themselves created. 20 They are, [in fact], dead, not alive, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected. 21
