On the Day each soul will come pleading for itself, and every soul will be repaid according to whatever it has done, and they will not be wronged. 111 And Allah presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allah. So Allah made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing. 112 And there had certainly come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they denied him; so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers. 113 So eat out of the lawful and good sustenance that Allah has bestowed upon you, and thank Allah for His bounty, if it is Him that you serve. 114 He hath only disallowed unto you the dead-meat and blood and swine-flesh and that over which is invoked the name of other than Allah. Then whosoever is driven by necessity, not lusting nor transgressing verily Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 115 And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, "This is lawful and this is unlawful," to invent falsehood about Allah. Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allah will not succeed. 116 [It is but] a brief enjoyment, and they will have a painful punishment. 117 We had made unlawful for the Jews all that we told you before. We did not do any wrong to them but they wronged themselves. 118 Yet surely your Lord, with respect to those who do an evil in ignorance, then turn after that and make amends, most surely your Lord after that is Forgiving, Merciful. 119
