Abraham was a community in himself devoted to God and true in faith, He was not one of the polytheists; 120 Thankful for His bounties; He chose him and He guided him unto a straight path. 121 And We gave him good in the world, and in the Hereafter he is among the righteous. 122 We sent you, (Muhammad), a revelation that you should follow the tradition of Abraham, the upright one, who was not a pagan. 123 [and know that the observance of] the Sabbath was ordained only for those who came to hold divergent views about him; but, verily, God will judge between them on Resurrection Day with regard to all on which they were wont to differ. 124 Call them to the path of your Lord with wisdom and words of good advice; and reason with them in the best way possible. Your Lord surely knows who strays from His path, and He knows those who are guided the right way. 125 Hence, if you have to respond to an attack [in argument,] respond only to the extent of the attack levelled against you; but to bear yourselves with patience is indeed far better for [you, since God is with] those who are patient in adversity. 126 And be patient; yet is thy patience only with the help of God. And do not sorrow for them, nor be thou straitened for what they devise. 127 Surely God is with those who are godfearing, and those who are good-doers. 128
