۞ Your Lord has commanded that you should worship none but Him, and show kindness to your parents. If either or both of them attain old age with you, say no word of contempt to them and do not rebuke them, but always speak gently to them 23 And lower to them the wing of humbleness out of mercy and say: 'My Lord, be merciful to them, as they raised me since I was little' 24 Your Lord knows what is in your heart. If you are righteous, then He is indeed forgiving to those who turn (to Him) in repentance. 25 And give to the near of kin his due and (to) the needy and the wayfarer, and do not squander wastefully. 26 Behold, the squanderers are, indeed, of the ilk of the satans - inasmuch as Satan has indeed proved most ungrateful to his Sustainer. 27 And if you [must] turn away from the needy awaiting mercy from your Lord which you expect, then speak to them a gentle word. 28 (vi) Do not keep your hand fastened to your neck nor outspread it, altogether outspread, for you will be left sitting rebuked, destitute. 29 Your Lord gives abundantly to whom He will and sparingly to whom He pleases. He is informed and observant about His servants. 30
