۞ Your Lord has ordained that you must not worship anything other than Him and that you must be kind to your parents. If either or both of your parents should become advanced in age, do not express to them words which show your slightest disappointment. Never yell at them but always speak to them with kindness. 23 And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: "My Lord! bestow on them thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood." 24 Your Lord knoweth best what is in your hearts: If ye do deeds of righteousness, verily He is Most Forgiving to those who turn to Him again and again (in true penitence). 25 And give thou to the kinsman his due, and also unto the needy and the wayfarer; and squander not in squandering. 26 Verily, spendthrifts are brothers of the Shayatin (devils), and the Shaitan (Devil - Satan) is ever ungrateful to his Lord. 27 And if thou turnest away from them awaiting a mercy from thy Lord which thou hopest, then speak unto them a gentle speech. 28 Be neither miserly, nor so open-handed that you suffer reproach and become destitute. 29 Indeed your Lord eases the livelihood and restricts it, for whomever He wills; He Well Knows, Beholds His bondmen. 30
