Kill not your children for fear of want: We shall provide sustenance for them as well as for you. Verily the killing of them is a great sin. 31 Do not commit adultery, for it is an indecent thing and an evil course. 32 Do not kill a respectable soul without a just cause. If anyone is wrongfully killed, we have given the heirs of that person the right (to demand satisfaction or to forgive). He must not exceed the law in having vengeance; his victim shall also be assisted (by law). 33 Come not nigh to the orphan's property except to improve it, until he attains the age of full strength; and fulfil (every) engagement, for (every) engagement will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning). 34 And correctly measure when you measure, and weigh correctly with the scales; this is better, and has a better outcome. 35 And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those [one] will be questioned. 36 And do not walk upon the earth exultantly. Indeed, you will never tear the earth [apart], and you will never reach the mountains in height. 37 All that is evil in the sight of your Lord, and is detestable. 38 That is part of that wisdom which thy Lord hath revealed unto thee, and set not up thou along with Allah another god, lest thou be cast into Hell, reproved, rejected. 39 What! has then your Lord preferred to give you sons, and (for Himself) taken daughters from among the angels? Most surely you utter a grievous saying. 40
