And they ask you about the soul. Say: The soul is one of the commands of my Lord, and you are not given aught of knowledge but a little. 85 Had We wanted, We could have removed the Spirit through whom We sent you revelation. Then you would not have found anyone to intercede with Us for you 86 except by the mercy of your Lord. He has certainly bestowed great favors on you. 87 Say, "If mankind and the jinn gathered in order to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to each other assistants." 88 Indeed, We have set forth for mankind in this Koran every kind of parable, yet most people refuse all except disbelief. 89 They have said, "We shall never believe you until you cause a spring to gush forth from the earth, 90 or you have a garden of date palms and vines, and cause streams to flow plentifully in the midst of them; 91 or thou cause the skies to fall down upon us in smithereens, as thou hast threatened, or [till] thou bring God and the angels face to face before us, 92 or till thou possessest a house of gold ornament, or till thou goest up into heaven; and we will not believe thy going up till thou bringest down on us a book that we may read. Say: 'Glory be to my Lord. Am I aught but a mortal, a Messenger?' 93
