They question you about the Spirit. Say, "The Spirit is at my Lord's command, and you have been granted but little knowledge." 85 If We pleased We could take away what We have revealed to you. Then you will not find any one to plead for it with Us, 86 except by the mercy of your Lord. He has certainly bestowed great favors on you. 87 Say: 'If men and jinn banded together to produce the like of this Koran, they would never produce its like, not though they backed one another.' 88 And verily We have displayed for mankind in this Qur'an all kind of similitudes, but most of mankind refuse aught save disbelief. 89 They have said, "We shall never believe you until you cause a spring to gush forth from the earth, 90 Or, until you acquire an orchard of date-palm trees and grapes, and produce rivers flowing through it; 91 or cause the sky to fall into pieces on us - as you believe you can - or bring God and the angels face to face with us, 92 or (show us) that you have a well adorned house of your own, or climb into the sky. We shall never believe that you have climbed into the sky until you bring us a book that we can read." Say, "All glory belongs to my Lord. Am I more than a mortal Messenger?" 93
