They ask you about revelation. Say, revelation is by the command of your Lord, and that you have been given but little knowledge. 85 Had We wanted, We could have removed the Spirit through whom We sent you revelation. Then you would not have found anyone to intercede with Us for you 86 Except as a mercy from thy Lord verily His grace unto thee is ever great. 87 Say, "If mankind and the jinn gathered in order to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to each other assistants." 88 Indeed, We have set forth for mankind in this Koran every kind of parable, yet most people refuse all except disbelief. 89 They say: "We shall not believe in thee, until thou cause a spring to gush forth for us from the earth, 90 or thou have a garden of date-palms and vines and cause rivers to gush forth in their midst in a sudden rush, 91 or cause the sky to fall into pieces on us - as you believe you can - or bring God and the angels face to face with us, 92 or till thou possessest a house of gold ornament, or till thou goest up into heaven; and we will not believe thy going up till thou bringest down on us a book that we may read. Say: 'Glory be to my Lord. Am I aught but a mortal, a Messenger?' 93
