The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, who has sent down upon His Servant the Book and has not made therein any deviance. 1 an unerringly Straight Book, meant to warn of a stern punishment from Allah, and to proclaim, to those who believe and work righteous deeds, the tiding that theirs shall be a good reward 2 Where they will abide for ever; 3 And to warn those who say, "Allah has taken a son." 4 No knowledge whatever have they of Him, and neither had their forefathers: dreadful - is this saying that comes out of their mouths, [and] nothing but falsehood do they utter! 5 Perhaps, you, would kill yourself (O Muhammad SAW) in grief, over their footsteps (for their turning away from you), because they believe not in this narration (the Quran). 6 We have made whatever exists on the earth its adornment to test and try them (and) know who acts better; 7 For We shall certainly turn it to barren dust. 8 Do you think that the Men of the Cave and the Inscription were one of Our wondrous signs? 9 Behold, the youths betook themselves to the Cave: they said, "Our Lord! bestow on us Mercy from Thyself, and dispose of our affair for us in the right way!" 10 We sealed off their ears in the cave for a number of years, 11 Then We roused them to find out which of the party had the correct account of the duration of their sleep in the cave. 12
