۞ Coin for them a similitude: Two men, unto one of whom We had assigned two gardens of grapes, and We had surrounded both with date-palms and had put between them tillage. 32 Each of the gardens yielded its fruit and did not withhold the least; and We made a stream flow in between them. 33 so the owner had fruit in abundance and he said to his neighbour, while conversing with him: "I have greater wealth than you and I am stronger than you in numbers." 34 And he entered his garden, wronging himself; he said, 'I do not think that this will ever perish; 35 Nor do I believe that the Hour of Resurrection will ever come to pass. And even if I am returned to my Lord, I shall find a better place than this." 36 His friend said to him, "How can you disbelieve in the One who turned clay into sperm out of which He created you? 37 "But as for my part (I believe) that He is Allah, my Lord and none shall I associate as partner with my Lord. 38 When you entered your garden, why did you not say: 'As God may please;' for no one has power except given by God? Though you see me poorer in wealth and children than you, 39 Then maybe my Lord will give me what is better than your garden, and send on it a thunderbolt from heaven so that it shall become even ground without plant, 40 Or its waters should sink down into the ground so that you are unable to find it. 41 And his fruits were encompassed [by ruin], so he began to turn his hands about [in dismay] over what he had spent on it, while it had collapsed upon its trellises, and said, "Oh, I wish I had not associated with my Lord anyone." 42 And there was for him no company to aid him other than Allah, nor could he defend himself. 43 Herein is all protection from Allah the True: He is excellent in respect of reward and excellent in respect of the final end! 44
