۞ (O Muhammad), propound a parable to them. There were two men of whom We bestowed upon one of the two vineyards, surrounding both of them with date-palms and putting a tillage in between. 32 Each of the two gardens brought forth its produce and stinted not aught thereof; and We caused to gush forth in the midst of the twain a river. 33 And he had fruit. And he said unto his comrade, when he spake with him: I am more than thee in wealth, and stronger in respect of men. 34 He went into his garden and wronging himself said, “I do not think that this will ever perish.” 35 “I do not think that the Last Day will ever be established – and even if I return to my Lord I will surely find a haven better than this garden.” 36 His friend said to him, "How can you disbelieve in the One who turned clay into sperm out of which He created you? 37 And He is God, my Lord, and I do not associate any one with my Lord. 38 And wherefore did you not say when you entered your garden: It is as Allah has pleased, there is no power save in Allah? If you consider me to be inferior to you in wealth and children, 39 Yet, my Lord may haply give me a garden better than yours, and He may send a thunder-bolt, from the skies and in the morning it will be a barren plain; 40 or its water may sink into the earth, so that you will never be able to find it again!" 41 (Sure enough the rich person's) fruits were all destroyed and he began to wring his hands in grief for all that he had invested in his garden. He found his garden tumbled to its trellises and said, "Would that I had not considered anything equal to my Lord". 42 But there was no host to help him, apart from God, and he was helpless. 43 The only support is from God, the True God. He is the best in rewarding and the best in respect of the final outcome. 44
