So they both set out; until when they had boarded the boat, the chosen bondman ruptured the boat; said Moosa, “Did you make a hole in the boat in order to drown its passengers? You have indeed done an evil thing.” 71 He said, "Did I not tell you that you would not be able to remain patient with me?" 72 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Call me not to account for what I forgot, and be not hard upon me for my affair (with you)." 73 and so they departed. Thereafter they met a boy and he killed him. He (Moses) exclaimed: 'What, have you killed a pure soul and it was not done (in retaliation) for a soul? you have done a terrible thing' 74 ۞ He responded, "Did I not tell you that you will not be able to remain patient with me?" 75 He said: If I ask you about anything after this, keep me not in your company; indeed you shall have (then) found an excuse in my case. 76 Then they proceeded: until, when they came to the inhabitants of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused them hospitality. They found there a wall on the point of falling down, but he set it up straight. (Moses) said: "If thou hadst wished, surely thou couldst have exacted some recompense for it!" 77 He said, “This is the parting between you and me; I shall now tell you the interpretation of the matters you could not patiently bear.” 78 As for the ship, it belonged to certain poor men, who toiled upon the sea; and I desired to damage it, for behind them there was a king who was seizing every ship by brutal force. 79 As for the lad, his parents were believers; and we were afraid he would impose on them insolence and unbelief; 80 It was our wish that their Lord should grant them another in exchange, another better in purity and tenderness. 81 And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure for them, and their father had been righteous. So your Lord intended that they reach maturity and extract their treasure, as a mercy from your Lord. And I did it not of my own accord. That is the interpretation of that about which you could not have patience." 82
