In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Kaf Ha Ya Ain Sad 1 A mention of the Mercy of your Lord to his worshiper Zachariah, 2 When he cried unto his Lord a cry in secret, 3 and said, "My Lord, my bones have become feeble and my hair has turned white with age. Yet I have never been deprived in receiving from You the answer to my prayers. 4 Indeed, I fear my kinsmen who will succeed me, for my wife is barren. Grant me a kinsman 5 one that might be my heir and the heir of the house of Jacob; and make him, Lord, one that will be pleasing to You. 6 "O Zachariah," (it was) said, "We give you good news of a son by name of John.' To none have We attributed the name before." 7 'How shall I have a son, Lord' he asked, 'when my wife is barren, and I am advanced in years' 8 (The angel) answered: "Thus will it be. Your Lord said: 'This is easy for Me; for when I brought you into being you were nothing.' 9 He said, “My Lord, give me a sign”; He said, “Your token is that you will not speak to people for three nights, although in proper health.” 10 So Zakariya came out to his people from him chamber: He told them by signs to celebrate Allah's praises in the morning and in the evening. 11 (We said:) "O John, hold fast to the Book;" and We gave him wisdom right from boyhood, 12 And piety (for all creatures) as from Us, and purity: He was devout, 13 And duteous unto his parents, and was not high-handed rebel. 14 So peace on him the day he was born, the day he will die, and the day that he will be raised from the dead. 15
