Mention in the Book Abraham; He was truthful and a Prophet. 41 Behold, he said to his father: "O my father! why worship that which heareth not and seeth not, and can profit thee nothing? 42 Father, a knowledge that has not reached you has come to me. So follow me that I may guide you to a Straight Way. 43 "O my father! serve not Satan: for Satan is a rebel against (Allah) Most Gracious. 44 Father, I fear that the punishment of the Merciful will fall upon you and you will become a guide of satan' 45 He said: "Are you averse to my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I shall have you stoned to death. So go away for a while from me." 46 He said, “Stop it – peace be upon you; I shall seek forgiveness for you from my Lord; indeed He is very kind to me.” 47 And I will leave you and those you invoke other than Allah and will invoke my Lord. I expect that I will not be in invocation to my Lord unhappy." 48 So when he had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides Allah, We gave him Ishaque (Isaac) and Ya'qub (Jacob), and each one of them We made a Prophet. 49 We granted them Our mercy and bestowed on them true and high renown. 50
